Mapúa University expands financial measures to ensure education continuity amid global economic challenges

Mapúa University is reinforcing its commitment to educational accessibility and continuity by expanding financial support measures aimed at easing the burden on students and their families amid ongoing global and economic challenges.

As families navigate the economic uncertainties caused by the escalating conflict affecting Middle East-based Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), the University remains steadfast in ensuring uninterrupted access to quality education.

This initiative aligns with Mapúa University’s recent comprehensive collaboration with Arizona State University (ASU), which strengthens academic innovation, global learning pathways, and the University’s mission to make internationally benchmarked education more accessible—especially during times of crisis. The partnership further enhances opportunities for academic mobility, curriculum enrichment, and global competitiveness for Mapúa students.

Recent data shows over 7,000 repatriated OFWs due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, resulting in significant financial disruption for Filipino families. In response, Mapúa University is strengthening its payment support mechanisms to help students continue their academic journey without interruption..

The University’s financial support programs include the Cardinal Global Edge Program, where all incoming college freshmen enrolling until May 31, 2026, across all blended undergraduate programs will be granted a 20% tuition discount for the first term of S.Y. 2026–2027.

To further ease enrollment, incoming Grade 11 students and college freshmen may enroll for the first term of S.Y. 2026–2027 with a minimum initial payment of ₱8,000. The remaining balance may be settled through the Extended Installment Plan, which distributes payments across seven (7) payday-based installments for the duration of the term. These payment structures are designed to help families manage educational expenses through structured and predictable installment schemes following the initial payment.

Apart from these offerings to incoming students, Mapúa University has also announced to the Mapúan community that it will not implement the scheduled adjustment in tuition and other fees for S.Y. 2026-2027, extending relief to current students as well.

“We remain dedicated to providing a globally benchmarked education while ensuring that it remains accessible to our students. By implementing these financial measures, Mapúa University aims to safeguard the academic journey of our future leaders against the impact of current global challenges. Our priority is to offer stability and continued support to our learners in an increasingly unpredictable landscape.” said Dr. Dodjie S. Maestrecampo, President and CEO of Mapúa University.

Beyond regional tensions in the Middle East, Mapúa University’s financial initiatives also address national economic pressures, including rising energy, fuel, and utility costs, which continue to affect many Filipino families.
