Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), in partnership with the Social Security System (SSS), announced that it will soon roll out the SSS Loan Lite, designed to provide members with safe, affordable, and convenient access to short-term credit. Through RCBC DiskarTech, eligible SSS members will be able to apply for loans digitally, receive approved funds instantly, and manage repayments seamlessly, offering a responsible alternative to high-cost informal lending and loan sharks.

The announcement was made during the launch of the “Simula na ng Diskarte: MySSS Card Powered by RCBC DiskarTech On-Ground Activation” held on March 26, 2026 at the SSS Diliman, Quezon City. The initiative marks the start of a nationwide awareness and education campaign aimed at helping SSS members understand, access, and maximize digital financial services, particularly among those who are yet to own a bank account or a debit card.

RCBC will activate on-ground touchpoints across select SSS offices nationwide to bring digital banking closer to members and guide them through their first digital financial experience. This will allow members to know more about the MySSS Card Powered by RCBC DiskarTech, as well as access a full suite of digital financial tools and services that support their financial wellness.

Members enjoy access to three financial services: management of their MySSS account; digital banking services through RCBC DiskarTech; and a Mastercard debit card that can be used for cashless retail transactions.

“Through this partnership with RCBC, we are not only modernizing how our members access financial services but also ensuring that no Filipino worker is left behind in the digital economy,” said SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph M. de Claro. “This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission to provide accessible and affordable financial support to our members, now made faster, simpler, and more secure through technology.”

Through these new touchpoints, SSS members can receive on-site assistance for account onboarding and card availment, alongside guided walkthroughs of DiskarTech features such as savings, bills payment, remittances, and loan applications.

Lito Villanueva, the Executive Vice President and Chief Innovations and Inclusion Officer of RCBC, shared that the campaign is part of the bank’s strategy to introduce digital solutions through strategically placed touchpoints in major areas such as SSS offices.

“Physical spaces are still pivotal and transformative to the digital banking journey of a majority of Filipinos, especially members of SSS. While digital banking succeeded in enjoining millions of digitally connected Filipinos, the last frontier lies amongst those who are not digitally connected and rely heavily on physical and analog transactions,” Villanueva said.

“This initiative humanizes the digital banking onboarding experience by putting a face to our banking solutions, and engaging with people’s fears, concerns, optimism and curiosity real-time in every SSS office,” Villanueva added.

RCBC’s digital banking solutions have been gaining momentum in rural, remote and low-income communities, driven by its strategy to bring accessible and practical financial services closer to Filipinos through both digital and physical touchpoints. The bank has previously partnered with other government institutions notably the Department of Education, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Department of Migrant Workers to scale sustainable finance.

The “Simula na ng Diskarte” activation in SSS Diliman kicks off a broader nationwide campaign, reinforcing RCBC DiskarTech’s role in enabling more Filipinos to transition into digital banking with ease and confidence.
