Salmon Finance earns global recognition for client protection, raising the bar for financial inclusion in the Philippines
Salmon Group Chief Compliance Officer Eunice Monsod, together with Salmon Finance Compliance Officer Yvonne Ablanida, receive the Client Protection Certification under the Cerise+SPTF Protection Standards, which was awarded based on the independent assessment by MicroFinanza Rating (MFR).

Salmon Finance Inc. has achieved the Client Protection Certification at the Silver level under the Cerise+SPTF Client Protection Standards, reinforcing its mission to responsibly expand access to meaningful financial services in the Philippines.

Cerise+SPTF is a global standard-setting body that helps financial institutions deliver responsible, client-focused services through social and environmental performance standards.

The certification was independently assessed by MicroFinanza Rating (MFR), a global rating agency headquartered in Italy. MFR is accredited by the European Commission to conduct assessments under the European Code of Good Conduct for Microcredit Provision and is recognized by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as a rating agency for microfinance institutions.

As Salmon continues to grow its credit offerings in the Philippines, this recognition underscores a core belief: financial inclusion isn’t just about expanding access, it’s about delivering that access to formal credit services in a safe, transparent, and fair way.

To achieve the Silver certification, Salmon underwent an independent evaluation against rigorous international standards for client protection, covering everything from pricing transparency and customer communication, to complaint resolution and collection practices.

For customers, this means that your protection is Salmon’s top priority. Your loans are priced fairly. Product information is communicated clearly and accurately, so there are no hidden fees. Your transactions are safe and secure, with advanced anti-fraud infrastructure and a reliable customer support team. Most importantly, every customer is treated with respect throughout the entire journey, from application to repayment.

“This certification reflects something deeper than compliance,” said Eunice Monsod, Chief Compliance Officer of Salmon Group. “It validates that client protection is embedded in how we operate at Salmon, not simply a requirement, but as a principle.”

“For us, financial inclusion doesn’t end with access alone, it means delivering services that create real, positive impact in the lives of Filipinos. This certification affirms that Salmon is helping lead the way toward extending meaningful inclusion, one that uplifts the lives of the people we serve,” Eunice added.

Based on the Cerise+SPTF officially disclosed data, less than 100 financial institutions hold a Client Protection Certification globally. In the Philippines, Salmon Finance is one of the six active financial institutions with this certification, placing the company among a small group setting a higher standard for the industry.

Cerise+SPTF also recognized Salmon Finance as one of the first adopters of the Digital Financial Services (DFS) Standards worldwide. The DFS framework addresses the unique risks and responsibilities of digital finance, an area where Salmon continues to invest and lead.

As Salmon scales its services, the company aims to prove that growth and responsibility don’t have to compete. Real financial inclusion goes beyond just access; it entails building systems people can trust.
